Volunteering
is not something new to me as I have been a volunteer quite a few times
before. All the volunteer jobs that I have taken part before share the
same traits, which is to ensure the success of an event. Previous
volunteer jobs did give me wonderful experiences, but, Social Engagement
gave me something more. It made me realise that how fortunate and
blessed am I to have a home, to never worry when my next meal will be
and have the ability to make a differences in others life, even just a
small, insignificant changes. Furthermore, PERTIWI Soup Kitchen also
taught me something new. Sometimes you have to be strict and kind
simultaneously. The people are strictly requested to follow the rules.
Anyone who disobey the rules will not be entertained. All these rules
serve to ease the flow of distributing the flow and it has proven to be
successful! There is not a single person who did not get the food and the flow is
very smooth as well as efficient.
